Diya Ganguly

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Business Academy, Chadron State College. I earned my PhD from the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

I teach economics and agricultural economics courses and contribute to the curriculum development of the department’s Agribusiness option. My work focuses on supporting student learning through bringing applied real-world issues into the classroom to highlight the relevance of economics in everyday life. I also serve as the department’s instructor of record for internship courses.

Before joining Chadron State I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Applied Economics and Statistics, University of Delaware, and the Center for Behavioral and Experimental Agri-Environmental Research (CBEAR).

My research employs experimental and behavioral economics to address pressing and emerging issues in agricultural economics, environmental policy, and food systems. Central to my work is understanding the barriers to pro-environmental behavior and policy implementation and exploring how behavioral interventions can effectively bridge the gap between intent and action.
